Алхимики подметили, что разрезанное поперёк яблоко в своей сердцевине содержит форму пятиконечной звезды, что напоминало им об искомом пятом элементе, некой неосязаемой, тонкой субстанции универсального объяснения мира. К числу пяти элементов относили воздух, огонь с движением в верх, землю и воду с движением — вниз, движение эфира это круг.

В моей работе Яблоко символизирует пятый элемент — эфир. Эфир как часть мира — наиболее лёгкий, прозрачный и лучезарный слой воздуха, верхний слой неба, которым дышат и в котором живут боги.

Я думаю, что каждый художник хотя-бы раз в жизни должен глотнуть этого воздуха вдохновения.

Alchemists have said that split apple in half in its core contains a form of five-pointed star which reminded them of an searched fifth element which can not be detected. Thus if this element was found it could contain a universal explanation of this world. The five elements are — air, fire which represents movement upwards, earth and water which represent movement downwards. And the fifth element is ether witch represents a movement in a circle.

In my work «Apple» represents the fifth element- ether. Ether is like a world but lighter, transparent and radiant part of the sky which fills the lungs of the gods.

I think that every artist should once in his lifetime take a breath of this air which brings inspiration.
