Ещё в юношеские годы я сделала экслибрис на свою домашнюю библиотеку с изображением птицы Сирин. Таким образом этот образ живёт со мной многие годы. Эта сказочная птица и стала для меня вдохновением при создания сумочки с вышивкой этой райской птицы в конкурсе на тему Русские мотивы.
Самые древние изображения Сирина восходят к X веку и сохранились в древнерусских женских украшениях, а также на глиняных тарелках.
Сирин в древнерусском искусстве и легендах — большая, сильная, пестрая дева-птица со строгим лицом и короной на голове. В русском народном искусстве птицу Сирин изображают как символ счастья.
По народному сказанию, утром на Яблочный Спас прилетает она в яблоневый сад, где грустит и плачет. Птица смахивает с крыльев живую росу на плоды и в них появляется удивительная сила — все плоды на яблонях с этого момента становятся целительными, а после полудня её сменяет птица Алконост, которая радуется и смеётся.
В русском народном искусстве птицу Сирин изображают как символ счастья.

Back in my youth, I made an ex-libris for my home library with the image of the Sirin bird. So this image has been living with me for many years. This magic bird became the inspiration for me when creating a purse with embroidery of this bird of paradise in the contest on the theme Russian motifs.
The most ancient images of the Sirin date back to the X century and have been preserved in ancient Russian women’s jewelry, as well as on clay plates. Sirin in ancient Russian art and legends is a large, strong, mottled maiden-bird with a stern face and a crown on her head. In Russian folk art, the Sirin bird is depicted as a symbol of happiness.
According to folk legend, in the morning she arrives at the Apple Rescue in the apple orchard, where she is sad and crying. The bird swipes the living dew from its wings onto the fruits and an amazing power appears in them — all the fruits on the apple trees from this moment become healing, and in the afternoon it is replaced by the Alkonost bird, which rejoices and laughs.
