Центральный элемент снимается и его можно носить отдельно, как брошь, а колье воротник отдельно, ну и, конечно, все вместе, как на фото. Обозначенные мотивы на украшении дали мне повод назвать композицию «Зов предков». Не знаю, насколько получилось с «Племенными мотивами», но вот «Назад к истокам» точно повели мои зрительные ассоциации к зову предков.
Символика, представленного колье-трансформера, спрятана в истории и своеобразии древней армянской культуры и быта. А потому интересные черты в обычаях разных сторон жизни народа легли в основу украшения.
На центральном элементе просматривается крест, форма же его — геометрически идентична узорам на коврах. Особую роль играют цвета, схожие с флагом Армении: красно-бордовый — символизирует Армянское Нагорье, борьбу за свободу, и даже зерна граната (подразумевают процветание, супружество); синий — волю народа жить под мирным небом; золотисто-оранжевый — талант и трудолюбие… На воротнике элементы вышивки навеяны видом старинного музыкального инструмента — канона, и даже буквами древнего армянского алфавита.
Все узоры вышивки и расположение, невероятно красивых, новых кристаллов Swarovski именно навеяны всем вышеупомянутым, а не являются точным повтором креста, букв, музыкального инструмента или ковровыми узорами.
I have come up with the «transformer» design idea. So, the central element can be removed and it can be worn separately as a brooch and as a necklace collar and of course all together as shown in the photo. The ornaments, shapes, and colors of the work have taken my visual associations to the Armenian origins that express my identity. So, the decoration motifs gave me an idea to call the design «Ancestors’ call».
Symbols represented in Necklace-transformer, are hidden in the unique history of the ancient Armenian culture and life. And the interesting features taken from customs of various aspects of the life of the Armenian people have formed the decorations’ foundation. It is expressed in the colors and shapes of my job.
A cross that is geometrically identical to the one on the carpets can be seen in the central element. Whereas, a huge role is played by colors similar to the Armenian flag. The red-burgundy one symbolizes the Armenian Highland, the struggle for freedom, and even pomegranate seeds, that in its turn mean prosperity and marriage; the blue one expresses people’s will to live under a peaceful sky, and the final golden-orange one represents the talent and hard work. The collar’s elements are inspired by the ancient musical instrument called canon and the ancient Armenian alphabet as well.
All the embroidery patterns are not identically similar to crosses, letters, carpet patterns or musical instruments, but the location of incredibly beautiful new Swarovski crystals perfectly express their essence and hidden meaning of my inspiration.
