Cross

The cross is one of the most famous symbols of humanity. Already in ancient times the cross became a sacred sign. Various rites, myths, legends, superstitions, rituals were associated with him. He was an integral part of the ornaments, became the basis for the construction of houses and temples, was minted on coins. Many centuries ago the cross was a symbol of the sacred balance of opposites — heavenly and earthly. The cross was compared to a ladder, along which a person can reach God. The cross is a symbol of the Sun, in many cultures there is a schematic image of the luminary in the form of crosses of different kinds. The cross embodies the unity of opposites: spirit and matter, male and female, higher and lower, life and death. The death of a deity or a hero on the cross leads to a revival in a new, eternal life — this motif is reflected in the mythology of many peoples. Cross-intersection is associated with the idea of choice. The cross can be considered as a cosmic symbol: its crossbeam symbolizes the horizon, the vertical pillar is the axis of the world. The ends of the cross point to the opposite sides of the world.

This pendant  symbolizes the unity of opposites, their unification in one point in the form of a cross. Red and green are on opposite sides of the color wheel, and gold and silver are metals that are symbols of the Sun and Moon — opposites that sometimes occur in the sky.I am text block.
